My mom wrote something that sums up what it means for my family to celebrate Remembrance/Veteran's Day. She writes, "Thank you to the Canadian soldiers who not only fought in the World Wars, but those that liberated Holland. Without your bravery I would not be here today! Thank you to my Dad who took me to the Canadian War Cemetery in Holland and to the concentration camps so I would remember the soldiers who fought for us. I became a proud Canadian in my teenage years and to this day I'm a very proud Canadian."
